Spaying/Neutering is at the top of our list. We cannot turn the tide of overpopulation until we reduce the growth rate of the stray population. With as many as 1000 dogs in a single pound, none of the animals get the care and attention they deserve. Spaying/Neutering can limit the number of animals born into already-overcrowded kennels.
SNIP International is a UK registered charity dedicated to improving standards of animal welfare around the world. In particular SNIP International promotes neutering programmes aimed at stray and feral animals. It respects life and does not endorse destruction of healthy animals.
The emphasis is mainly on stray and feral cats, but we are also doing some work with dogs.
The Foundation for Protection of Stray Dogs (FPCC) has been created in 2001, with Mr. Robert Smith as president. The foundation main scope is to implement the „Neuter and Release” project, a program created to solve the problem of stray dogs in Câmpina. The advantage of this project is that it can solve this problem once for all in the next 5 or 6 years.
