ANIMED ARAD is a registered animal rescue and welfare charity. We aim to reduce the number of unwanted pets to the level where sheltering them for adoption has a point. Sheltering is pointless until the need is reduced. Without a strong and effective team that controls the breeding for every stray dog or cat taken of the streets, into a shelter, hundreds more will be born and there will always be strays on the streets. We fix them all. All that we can find and collect/trap. We also provide medical care to the ones who are injured or ill. Some cannot be returned so we keep them for adoption. Almost half of the ones we take in for medical care are adopted by families.
The charity was founded by a mother and son team. Claudiu got married on September 2nd 2010, on his birthday. His wife, Mihaela, became Vice-President of the charity. Together with his mother and wife, they work daily with the animals, hands-on, rescuing, rehoming, cleaning, collecting, trapping and so on. Claudiu is an Environmental Engineer and will become a vet as well, next year.
